The 2019 National High School Entrepreneurship Competition which came off from the 11th-14th July at the University of Ghana and brought together students from over fifty Senior High Schools across the country saw Methodist Girls Senior High in the Eastern Region emerging champions. Akoma incorporation a simulated company by the Methodist Girls High School that deals in the Production of waterproof materials including paper bags amongst others by recycling plantain leaves while addressing some selected Sustainable Development Goals as a prerequisite for all competing schools walked home with the ultimate trophy as three time champions in a row. Aside the products they were awarded from sponsors as part of their winning prizes they will represent Ghana in San Francisco,USA at the SAGE Global Championship in August and be beneficiaries of a special incubation to put their products on the market by the organisers. The National High School Entrepreneurship Competition is an annual challenge organised by the Students For The Advancement Of Global Entrepreneurship as part of their effort to raising the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders while putting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into action.Â
